Snow Days

We have definitely had our share of snow this year! It just seems to keep coming even though Spring is a few weeks away. While many New Englanders seem to have had it with the white stuff, I try to embrace it as much as possible! I try to remember that there were days that we wished for a snow day and now we get it! Over and over and over...

Our recent snowy day made me bundle up and stay in by the fire, but not until I got those fluffy white snowflake on camera. I love that snow globe feeling! I of course I mostly stayed indoors but still enjoyed the view.

Sweat for the Vets

SWEAT FOR THE VETS  Pride Martial Arts and Fitness / Broken Gear

January 16, 2015

Pride Martial Arts and Fitness recently collaborated with Broken Gear to raise money for disabled veterans. What a great cause. "I Am Broken, Not Beaten", brightly written on their gear, states what Broken Gear is all about, supporting heroes, supporting veterans. Broken Gear is an American made clothing line dedicated toward disabled veterans, disabled athletes, and the friends and family who support them. The owner, Stephen D'Amico is dedicating his time to keeping veterans active with a variety of sports. 

I was able to join them for this event and was able to capture the strength and determination of Prides students. Their dedication to strength and fitness was so motivating and inspiring.

Sensei Andrew is focused on keeping his students motivated all while keeping the class challenging and fun. In fact, my own daughter is now begging to start a PROGRAM at Pride because it was a blast and a great workout.

The Little Things...

I often find myself wandering my yard in attempts to find something new, beautiful or eye catching. More recently I have been searching at a micro level to find beauty in the little things that I usually overlook or ignore. I was surprised to see such pops of color late in the season before the real colors of fall began to appear.

September Summer

Where I'm from, this is the true summer season. 

The early September days are sunny and the ocean is finally warm. 

Not to mention...the tourist are gone. (Mostly!) 

It's when the locals come out of the woodwork
and explore their beloved salty beaches. My family included. 

As Autumn closes in on us, I will cherish these last few beach days.
They are some of the best days of the year.

New School

School Portraits are not as they used to be. With the old school dazzling laser backdrop and the propped, posed hands. These portraits certainly have come a long way. I have taken my own children's school portraits for the past two years and have been happy with the results. The true smile on her face. The sparkle in her eye. The 'I didn't have to wait in line and have someone comb my hair' look. It was the part of her lifetime that I wanted to capture, the sweet innocence of my young lady.
